What changed
Our original Customer Portal for Shopify customer accounts was a single block called Subscription management. To keep the portal fast within Shopify's size limits for extensions, we split it into several smaller Customer Portal blocks. Each block handles one feature.
The old single block was retired on 6 June 2026.
Is your portal blank or missing features? Your store is probably still using the old block. Follow the steps below to fix it. Your subscriptions, billing, contracts and webhooks are not affected. Only the customer-facing portal is.
Before you start
This applies only if you use the Shopify Extension Customer Portal, which runs on Shopify's new customer accounts.
The Classic Customer Portal at
/apps/subscriptionsuses no blocks, so you don't need to do anything.
How to update your portal
Step 1: Open the customer-account editor
In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Customer accounts → Customize. That opens the Checkout and accounts editor. Use the page selector to open a Customer accounts page (for example Orders), then open the Apps panel.
Step 2: Add every Customer Portal block
Under Appstle Subscription → Customer Portal, add every block below. All of them are required. If one is missing, part of the portal won't work.
Customer Portal blocks in the Apps panel (including DEPRECATED - Subscription management).
Manage Subscription Button: adds a manage-subscription link on account and order pages
Subscription Detail: shows one subscription's items, schedule, address and payment
Subscription management: the entry page that lists the customer's subscriptions
Edit Subscription: lets customers add, remove or swap products
Upcoming and Past Order details: shows upcoming and past orders
Subscription Product Update: handles variant changes and other product updates
Subscription Bundle: adds Build-a-Box and bundle support
Subscription Quick Action: lets customers skip, pause or reschedule from the list
Step 3: Answer the "Add to menu" prompt
Subscription management → Yes. This is how subscribers reach the portal.
Every other block → No. Customers reach these pages through links inside the portal.
Step 4: Remove the old block
The old block appears in the Apps panel as DEPRECATED - Subscription management. The new entry-page block is still called Subscription management (without DEPRECATED). Remove any deprecated block from the page so customers only use the new portal.
Step 5: Save
Click Save. Your changes are live for subscribers right away.
Check that it works
Sign in to a test customer account on your storefront.
Open Subscriptions from the account menu and confirm that the list loads.
Open a subscription and try to edit it, skip an order and view upcoming orders.
