The Visibility panel in the Loyalty design editor controls whether customers see loyalty, how they reach it, who can see it and on which pages of your store. Use it to show loyalty only to the customers you choose, or to keep it off pages where it doesn't belong.
The loyalty page depends on your plan. If your plan doesn't include it, the editor says so next to the setting, with a View billing link.
Open the Visibility panel
In Appstle Loyalty, click Design.
Click Customize. The Loyalty design editor opens full screen.
Click Visibility in the list of panels on the left.
You can also click the pencil icon on the Loyalty on your store card on the Design page. The editor opens on the Visibility panel.
The Launcher and Loyalty page tabs at the top left decide which settings you see. Settings about the launcher, such as Show the launcher on phones, are on the Launcher tab only. The Loyalty page group is on the Loyalty page tab only. Everything else is on both tabs.
Some settings are folded away. To see them, click the link at the bottom of the group that starts with Show, such as Show 1 more: Launcher opens the loyalty page.
Turn loyalty on or off
In Basics, turn off Show loyalty on your store.
In the Turn off loyalty on your store? dialog, click Turn off.
Click Save.
Customers then don't see the launcher, the loyalty page, on-site blocks, the cart rewards widget, checkout and account blocks, or nudges. Points for visiting your store and loyalty emails stop too.
Points from orders keep working. In new customer accounts, customers still see the loyalty page and their points balance.
To turn loyalty back on, turn on Show loyalty on your store and click Save.
Choose how customers reach loyalty
Under How customers reach loyalty, pick one of these choices:
Choice | What customers see |
Launcher and loyalty page | Customers open the popup from the launcher, and can also use your loyalty page. |
Launcher only | Customers open the popup from the launcher. Your loyalty page still works at its address, so remove it from your store's menus. |
Loyalty page only | No launcher or popup. Customers use your loyalty page. |
The launcher settings below show only while you choose Launcher and loyalty page or Launcher only. With Loyalty page only, they're hidden.
Setting | What it does |
Show the launcher on phones | Turn it off to hide the launcher and its popup on screens up to 576 px wide. |
Hide the launcher while scrolling | When customers scroll down 200 px or more, the launcher and an open popup hide. They come back when customers scroll up 200 px. |
Launcher opens the loyalty page | Clicking the launcher opens your loyalty page in a new tab instead of the popup. Links that open the popup still open it. It shows when you choose Launcher and loyalty page, and needs a plan that includes the loyalty page. |
Limit loyalty to certain customers
The settings in Who sees loyalty limit loyalty to signed-in customers, or to customers with certain tags:
Setting | What it does |
Show the launcher only to signed-in customers | Guests don't see the launcher. They still see your loyalty page, on-site blocks and the cart rewards widget. |
Only customers with these tags | Signed-in customers need at least one of these tags to see loyalty. Guests don't see it unless Show loyalty to guests is on. Customers without a tag still earn points on orders. |
Customers with these tags don't see loyalty | Signed-in customers with any of these tags don't see loyalty and don't earn points on orders. A tag here also hides loyalty from guests unless Show loyalty to guests is on. |
Show loyalty to guests | Guests keep seeing loyalty while you use tag rules, and their tags are checked once they sign in. Checkout blocks still hide from guests. This setting shows only after you add a tag to one of the two tag lists. |
The tag lists apply to the launcher and popup, the loyalty page, on-site blocks, the cart rewards widget, and checkout and account blocks. On the loyalty page, guests see a sign-in message and other customers see a "not eligible" message.
Choose which pages show loyalty
The settings in Which pages take page paths, such as /pages/about. Enter only the path. Web addresses never match. A path matches every page whose address contains it, so /pages matches every page under /pages.
Setting | What it does |
Hide the launcher on these pages | Hides the launcher on matching pages. Use /homepage for your home page. Links that open the popup still open it on these pages. |
Show the launcher only on these pages | The launcher shows only on matching pages. Use /homepage for your home page. If a page matches both this list and the hide list, the launcher is hidden. |
Don't load loyalty on these pages | Nothing from loyalty loads on matching pages: no launcher, popup, loyalty page, on-site blocks, cart rewards widget, nudges or custom CSS. Use / for your home page only, or // for every page. |
Load loyalty only on the loyalty page | On other pages, on-site blocks, the cart rewards widget and nudges don't load, and a loyalty page block placed on another page stops working. The launcher still loads on every page. |
The editor warns you about common slips. For example, / in Hide the launcher on these pages matches every page, so the launcher is hidden everywhere.
Set up the loyalty page
Click the Loyalty page tab to see the Loyalty page group:
Setting | What it does |
Loyalty page address | Customers open your loyalty page at this address. Loyalty also loads customers' points and rewards through it, so it must match the App proxy URL in your Shopify settings. For the steps, see Setting Proxy Path (Loyalty). |
Hide the loyalty page from search engines | Adds a robots tag (noindex, nofollow, noarchive) to your loyalty page, so search engines don't list it. |
Page title | Shown in the browser tab and in search results for your loyalty page, and as the heading of the loyalty page in customer accounts. Leave it empty to keep your store's own title. |
Search description | The description search engines can show for your loyalty page. Leave it empty to keep your store's own description. |
Page title and Search description are saved for the language you're editing. If your store has more than one language, choose each one in the language menu in the top bar and fill them in.
Save your changes
Nothing changes on your store until you click Save in the top right corner. The editor confirms with Design saved.
Things to know
Launcher only doesn't turn your loyalty page off, even though the Loyalty on your store card on the Design page then shows Loyalty page off. Customers who go to the page's address can still open it, so remove links to it from your store's menus.
If Loyalty page only is chosen and your plan doesn't include the loyalty page, for example after a plan change, customers see no launcher and a "page not available" message. Choose Launcher and loyalty page or Launcher only instead.
If you enter a path in Don't load loyalty on these pages that matches your loyalty page's address, the loyalty page stops loading too. The editor warns you.
