What this video covers
This video creates a membership plan from start to finish: the name and tags, the membership listing and the renewal cycle. Then it turns on each optional setting to show what it does (trial, discount, specific tags, renewal day, and upgrade and downgrade options), adds a question for buyers, saves the plan, and shows the membership on the product page.
In short
Customer Tag Name fills in from the Membership name. Appstle adds it to every member in Shopify to give them their perks, and customers never see it. Order Tag Name is added to every membership order.
The Membership Listing is the product customers buy to join. Create New Membership Listing makes the product when you save, already set to subscription only. If you choose an existing product with Select Membership Listing, set it to subscription only in Shopify.
Renewal Cycle sets how often members pay: days, weeks, months or years, or Lifetime Membership (one 99-year billing cycle). Display Name is what buyers see on the product page, in the cart and at checkout.
Trials, discounts, Specific Tags and Advanced Settings are optional. Offer Discount For Membership shows only while Offer Trial is off, and only one of Require Specific Tags and Exclude Specific Tags can be on. Advanced Settings show only when renewals are in weeks, months or years.
Additional Questions add fields to the product page. Answers appear on the member's membership, under Attributes.
