What this video covers
This video shows how to keep products, pages and Add to Cart buttons for your members only: how to add an Exclusive Member Content perk to a plan, what each access type and setting does, and what visitors see on your store.
In short
Plans & Perks > Membership Perks next to your plan > Create New Membership Perk (Add New Membership Perk once the plan has perks) > Exclusive Member Content. Each plan has its own perks, and only that plan's members get access.
Select Access Type picks what to restrict: the Add to Cart button, a product page, a blog page, a collection page or any other page. Non-members get the content hidden or replaced, and signed-in members see everything. Restricted products can still show up in search results, but their pages stay locked for non-members.
Under Show advanced fields, the selector says which part of the page to replace. For pages it starts as main, everything between your header and footer: change it only if you know your theme. Access Denied Message is what non-members see in its place. It can include HTML, and if you clear it, the content simply disappears. Configure, next to Add a "Get Membership" Button, inserts a button that links to your membership page.
Restriction Method: Product Attributes restricts every product with the tag, vendor, collection or product type you enter. Tags and collections take several values separated by commas; vendor and product type take one. With a tag, vendor or type, any collection page showing such a product is locked too. URL Path restricts pages by the part of the address after your domain, such as /products/dark-roast-coffee; separate several paths with commas. Under Path Match Type, Contains also catches longer addresses and Exact matches that one address only. Click Done, then Save in the top bar.
Limit Access Add To Cart Button starts with the path /, which is every page: enter your product's path before you save. Its selector starts as .product-form. Shopify's Horizon theme needs product-form-component instead. On another theme, if non-members still see Add to Cart, ask our support team for the right selector.
