How to show members their own page (video guide)

What this video covers

This video shows how to give signed-in members their own version of a page: make a members template in your Shopify theme, add a Member-Exclusive Page Templates perk to a plan, set each of its options (page type, template, URL path and Path Match Type), and compare what a member and a visitor see on your store.

In short

  • Make the template first: Online Store > Edit theme > template picker > Create template. Don't assign it to any product, or everyone will see it. If you ever delete it from your theme, delete the perk first.

  • In Plans & Perks > Membership Perks, add a Member-Exclusive Page Templates perk, then choose the page type and your template (not the standard one).

  • Enter a page path, or several separated by commas, or leave it empty for every page of that type. Then choose Contains or Exact.

  • Members see the template only when they're signed in, and the Appstle Memberships app embed must be on. Members on a free trial see it only if Allow membership perks during trial is on in Shop Settings. After you save, your store can take a few minutes to show it.

  • The template changes how a page looks. To lock a page, use Exclusive Member Content.
