Subscribers expect every recurring order to arrive with the products they chose. Use the Product Delivery Forecasting card to see how many units of each product your upcoming subscription orders need, so you can order stock in time. If you can't get a product in time, set up a product swap that replaces it with a similar product.
The forecast is available on every plan. Product swaps are included in the Business Premium plan and higher.
To have Appstle skip or retry renewal orders automatically when a product is out of stock, see Handle out-of-stock products on subscription orders.
See how many units your upcoming orders need
In your Shopify admin, go to Appstle Subscription → Analytics. If Analytics isn't in the sidebar, click View more.
Open the Products tab. If you don't see it, click More views.
Find the Product Delivery Forecasting card at the top of the tab. Each row is one product variant, with the number of units your upcoming orders need in each period.
To find a product, type its product or variant name in the search box.
To check another period, click the date range button at the top of the card, pick a range such as Next 6 Months or set your own dates, and click Apply. The Custom Date Range column shows that period. It starts at the next 3 months.
The Product Delivery Forecasting card in the Products tab of Analytics, filtered to coffee products.
The other columns always count from today: Next Week, Next Month, Next 3 Months and Next Year, each with the dates it covers.
Export the forecast
On the Product Delivery Forecasting card, click Export.
Choose an address in Email Address and click Export.
When Appstle emails you that the export is complete, go to Appstle Subscription → More → Exports and click Download next to the file.
The CSV file uses the search and date range set on the card, and adds each variant's SKU.
The Email Address list shows your store's notification email recipients. Only the store owner can add an address, under Shop Settings → Account Ownership Settings → Notification Email Recipients.
The store owner and staff with full access to your Shopify admin can export. If Export is greyed out for you, ask the store owner to add your user ID under Shop Settings → Account Ownership Settings.
What the forecast counts
It counts your active subscriptions from today onward. Paused and cancelled subscriptions aren't counted.
Each number is the product's quantity times the deliveries due in that period, counted from each subscription's next order date at its delivery frequency. A subscription with a maximum number of orders stops counting after its last one.
The date range at the top of the Analytics page doesn't change the forecast. Only the card's own date range does.
It doesn't include products in prepaid one-time subscriptions.
It shows the products in your subscriptions now. It doesn't include swaps that haven't run yet, or free products that rules add to recurring orders.
A product with no deliveries due in any of the columns isn't listed.
Swap a product you can't supply
Compare the forecast with the stock you can get. For each product you can't get in time, set up a product swap in Appstle Subscription → Journeys (under View more in the sidebar), starting from the Swap a product after an order template. The steps are in How to Auto-Swap Products After an Order. If the template shows Locked, chat with support to unlock product swaps for your store.
A swap journey changes a subscription after each order is placed, so the next order still has the original product. To replace the product in all current subscriptions right away, activate the journey, click ⋯ on its row in Journeys, then click Apply now and confirm. This can't be undone automatically, so check the products before you confirm.
Once the swap has replaced a product, check the forecast again: the replacement product now carries that demand.
For example, the forecast above shows 6 units of House Blend Coffee over the next 3 months, but your roaster can send only 2 in time. You set up a swap from House Blend Coffee to Colombia Coffee and click Apply now, so your subscribers' next orders ship Colombia Coffee instead.
