The Dashboard is the first page of Appstle Loyalty. It shows whether your program is ready for customers, which loyalty blocks are on your theme, how far your setup has come, how customers are using the program and how many orders your plan covers this month.
Use it as a quick health check. Open it after you change your theme or your plan, or when customers say they can't see loyalty or don't get points.
Open the Dashboard
In your Shopify admin, click Apps, then click Appstle℠ Loyalty. The app opens on the Dashboard. Until you've finished the first-time setup and chosen a plan, it opens on those instead.
To come back to it from another page of the app, click Appstle℠ Loyalty in the side menu.
Banners at the top
A banner appears above the cards only when something needs your attention. Closing one hides it until you next open the app. These are the banners you may see:
Banner | When it shows and what to do |
Activate the Appstle Loyalty app embed to turn on storefront features | The app embed is off in your live theme, so customers don't see loyalty on your store and don't earn points for new orders or sign-ups. Click Activate app embed, turn on Appstle Loyalty in the theme editor and click Save. See Set up your loyalty program. |
New customer accounts: enable point earning for future orders | Your store uses Shopify's new customer accounts, and no active way to earn gives points to guests. Shopify doesn't mark these shoppers as active after checkout, so the app treats them as guests and skips their points. Click Enable point earning: from then on, every shopper who orders earns points, and affected past customers are marked as active. It doesn't give points for past orders. To give those, use More → Bulk Operations → Import Past Orders. |
Your email has been blocked | Too many of your program's emails bounced, so Appstle Loyalty has stopped sending emails to your customers. Click Contact Support to get them going again. |
Klaviyo Integration Update | Your Klaviyo connection still uses the old private and public keys, which Klaviyo has retired. Click Connect to reconnect Klaviyo with the new method. |
Update Required: Review Email Forwarding Domain | Your review app still forwards review emails to an old Appstle address. In your review app, change the forwarding address to the one shown in the banner so customers keep earning points for reviews, then click Already Done?. |
Program status
The Program status card runs three checks before launch: App embed, Program and Plan. Plan shows your current plan and always passes, so the badge says Ready when the other two pass and Needs attention when one doesn't. Program counts only active ways to earn and rewards, not paused ones. See Set up your loyalty program for what to do when a check fails.
Storefront App Blocks
The Storefront App Blocks card counts the Appstle Loyalty blocks that are on your live theme. It shows how many, for example You have 1 added app blocks on your live theme, or No app blocks are added yet when there are none. The dedicated loyalty page block isn't included in the count.
Click View Blocks Status to see each block and its badge. Click Configure beside a block to open its page, where you can add it to your theme.
The card lists these blocks: Acquire Points, Point Balance, Cart rewards widget and Vip Tier Status. The badge beside each one shows where it stands:
Badge | What it means |
Configured | The block is on your live theme and the app embed is on, so customers see it. |
Needs app embed | The block is on your live theme, but the app embed is off, so customers don't see it. Turn on the app embed. |
Added | The block is on your live theme, but the app couldn't check the app embed. |
Not added | The block isn't on your live theme. Click Configure to add it. |
Finish setup
The Finish setup card holds the Setup guide, with a progress bar that reads, for example, 3/4 complete. A check mark replaces a step's number when it's done, and its button changes from Set up to Manage. Each button opens the matching page of the app.
Here's when each step counts as done:
Step | Done when |
Ways to earn | You have at least one active way to earn that isn't a referral or VIP one. |
Rewards | You have an active reward that isn't a referral or VIP reward, or an active way to earn that gives store credit. |
Referrals | Your referral program is active. This step shows only on plans that include referrals. |
VIP program | The VIP program is turned on. This step shows only on plans that include the VIP program. |
Under the guide, Setup walkthrough has a Watch button that plays the 3-minute setup video and a Help button that opens chat with support. Click the X at the top right of the card to hide it for good. It doesn't come back, and Restart onboarding and the Watch button go with it.
Restart onboarding opens the first-time setup again, and the app shows only the setup until you leave it. Skip for now leaves without adding anything.
If you leave with Launch program or Save and launch later, the setup adds another Product Purchase way to earn and, for points, another Discount Reward, and replaces your launcher icon, brand color and texts. Delete the extra way to earn and reward if you don't want them. Until you do, customers see the duplicates, and the second Product Purchase can change how much they earn.
Whichever button you leave with, the setup turns off Require Customers to Opt In to the Loyalty Program unless you check that box in its Rewards Panel step. If your program requires opt-in, turn it back on in More → Advanced Settings.
Program Performance
Program Performance shows six totals since your loyalty program launched. Hover over a label to see what it counts. A total that is still zero shows a clock icon, which says Waiting for activity when you hover over it.
Here's what each total counts:
Metric | What it counts |
Members | Every customer the app has a loyalty record for: the same customers listed on the Customers page, including excluded ones. |
Earn activity | How many times customers earned points or store credit from a way to earn. Pending points count. Points you add by hand don't. |
Redeemers | How many rewards customers have claimed, not how many customers claimed them. A customer who claims two rewards counts twice. Refunded rewards don't count. |
Points earned | The points customers earned from your ways to earn, including pending points. Points you add by hand and store credit aren't included. |
Points redeemed | The points customers spent on rewards. |
Store credits earned | The store credit value customers earned from ways to earn that give store credit. |
If the totals can't load, the card shows Performance metrics are taking longer than expected. Click Try again.
Monthly Order Usage
The Monthly Order Usage card shows how many orders the app has processed this month against your plan's limit, for example 13 of 5,000 orders used this billing cycle. The bar fills as you use more. The count starts again on the first day of each month in your store's time zone, and Renews shows the last day of the month. On a yearly plan, the monthly limit is the yearly limit divided by 12.
The card doesn't show on plans with no order limit. If you go over the limit, the app shows only the Billing page until you choose a plan with a higher limit or the count starts again next month.
Other cards
Further down, cards promote other Appstle apps, such as Pickup & Delivery and Memberships, and Our Recommended Apps lists more with Integrate buttons. They are suggestions only and don't change your loyalty program.
Things to know
The app checks your live theme. If you publish a different theme later, turn on the app embed and add the blocks in that theme too.
Orders placed while the app embed was off don't earn points on their own. To give points for them, use More → Bulk Operations → Import Past Orders. Skipped orders show in More → Activity Logs with the status Failure.
If customers earn store credit instead of points, they spend it at checkout, so you don't need a reward for the Program check.
Referrals and VIP program are optional. You don't need them to launch.
Troubleshooting
The Dashboard says Needs attention. What's missing?
Look at the App embed and Program checks in the Program status card:
App embed has an amber dot and says Off on your live theme. Click Configure, turn on Appstle Loyalty and click Save. Then reload the Dashboard.
Program says No active way to earn yet, so customers can't collect points. or No active reward yet, so customers can't spend their points. Click Add a way to earn or Add a reward below the message.
A block says Not added, but I added it. Why?
Check these in order:
Reload the Dashboard to check again.
You added the block to a theme that isn't your live theme. The card checks only your live theme.
You placed the block outside the pages the card checks. It looks for Acquire Points on product pages, Cart rewards widget on the cart page, and Point Balance and Vip Tier Status on product, account and order pages. A block in your header or footer, for example, can still show on your store, but the card says Not added.
