Pickup slots are the times customers choose from after they pick a pickup date. You can set opening hours and let the app split them into slots, for example every 30 minutes, or create your own slots, such as 9 to 11 AM. Each location has its own slots, and they can be the same every day or different for each day.
Before you start
Turn on Enable pickup date picker and Enable pickup time picker on the location. See Choose the days customers can pick up orders.
Split your opening hours into slots
In the app, go to Locations and open the location.
In the Store pickup card, click Show settings.
Under Pickup times, choose Same everyday of the week or Different each day of the week.
Choose the From and Until times. With Different each day of the week, choose a day first, then set its times. Repeat for each open day.
Under Pickup slots frequency, choose how long each slot is, from Every 5 minutes to Every 60 minutes.
Click Save.
For example, From 9:00 AM, Until 5:00 PM and Every 30 minutes gives customers slots from 9:00 to 9:30 AM through 4:30 to 5:00 PM.
Create your own slots
Use custom slots when your pickup windows aren't evenly spaced, for example a morning and an afternoon window with a lunch break.
Under Pickup slots frequency, choose Custom.
Under Pickup times, choose Same everyday of the week or Different each day of the week.
Set the From and Until time of the first slot.
Click + Add slot for each extra slot, and set its times.
To remove a slot, click the bin next to it.
Click Save.
Each slot you add is one choice for customers. If two slots have the same times, the page shows Duplicate pickup slots detected.
What customers see
After customers choose a pickup date in the cart widget, they choose one of that day's slots. Slots made from a frequency are offered only if they start after the order can be ready, which is now plus any preparation time. Custom slots stay open until they end. For example, with no preparation time, a custom 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM slot can still be chosen at 10:00 AM. Customers must choose a time before they can check out, unless you turn off Pickup date is required in Settings → Store pickup.
To select the first available time for customers automatically, turn on Preselect first available time in Settings → Store pickup.
Things to know
Slots fit inside your hours. With a frequency, the last slot must end by your Until time. For example, 9:00 AM to 5:15 PM with 30-minute slots ends at 5:00 PM.
Limit orders per slot. To cap how many pickup orders each slot takes, use Pickup order limits on the location and choose Limit number of pickup orders per time slot.
Times follow the location's time zone. Set it in the Timezone card on the location page.
FAQs
Can I close for lunch?
Yes. Choose Custom and add one slot before lunch and one after, for example 9:00 to 12:00 and 1:00 to 5:00.
Why don't customers see any times for a day?
Check that the day is open under Pickup availability, that it has times set, and that its slots haven't all passed or filled up. With Different each day of the week, each open day needs its own times.
