A location is a store, warehouse or pickup point that customers collect orders from, or that you deliver from. Each location has its own address, its own pickup and delivery settings, and optional details customers see in the cart widget. This article shows you how to add, import and manage locations.
Before you start
Turn on the services you offer in Settings → Store pickup and Settings → Local delivery. A location can't offer a service that is turned off for the whole store.
Have each location's address and phone number ready.
Add a location
In the app, go to Locations and click Create Location.
Under Location details, enter the Location name, Company name, Country/region, Address, City, Zip code and Phone number. State is also required for countries that have states or provinces.
In the Store pickup and Local delivery cards, click Enable for each service this location offers.
Click Show settings on each enabled service to set its days, times, preparation time and other options.
Fill in any optional details, described below.
Click Save.
When you edit a saved location, the address is shown as a summary. Click Edit address to change it.
Pickup and delivery settings
The settings under Show settings apply to this location only, so each location can have its own schedule. These guides cover them in detail:
Optional details
Store image is above the pickup and delivery cards. The others are below them.
Card | What it does |
Store image | A photo customers see when they choose this location. Upload the image in Shopify admin under Content → Files, then paste its link into Image URL. The recommended size is 512 × 512 pixels. |
Daily inventory | Limits how many units of a product this location can sell per day through the pickup or delivery date picker. Once a product sells out for a date, customers with it in their cart can't choose that date. |
Timezone | The time zone the location's schedule runs in. Customers see it under the date and time picker, for example "Schedule time zone: America/New_York". |
Latitude and longitude | The location's coordinates. They're filled in when you import locations. The cart and checkout widgets find each location on Google Maps from its address, so keep the address complete. |
Custom attributes | Up to three values, such as a store code. They're added to pickup orders from this location as Custom Attribute 1 to 3. Customers can also filter pickup locations by one of them. In Settings → Store pickup, turn on Enable advanced location filters and choose Custom attribute 1, 2 or 3. This filter can't be on together with Enable geographic search. |
More information | HTML for the pop-up customers open from the location's "More information" link, entered in Pop-up content. Use it for details such as opening hours, parking or collection instructions. You can use paragraphs, headings, bold and italic, lists and tables. Links, images and styles are removed. |
Import locations
Import your Shopify locations
On the Locations page, click Import POS Locations. The app adds your Shopify locations with their name, address, phone number and coordinates. Pickup and delivery start turned off, so open each new location to enable them.
If an app location already has the same name, or the same address and zip code, as a Shopify location, the app links the two instead of adding a copy. If everything is already imported, you see All Shopify locations are already imported.
Import from a CSV file
On the Locations page, click Import Locations (CSV).
Click Download a sample CSV template and fill in one row per location.
Under Step 1: Upload your CSV, click Upload and choose your file. The page previews the first 5 rows.
Under Step 2: Map your columns, match each column in your file to a field, or choose Ignore.
Click Import Locations.
Your file must have columns for company name, location name, address, city, state, zip code, country code, latitude, longitude and timezone.
Imported locations start with pickup and delivery turned off and no phone number. Open each one to enable its services and add the phone.
Manage your locations
The Locations page lists every location and whether Store Pickup and Local Delivery are active there. Use the search box, the filter button (by Company Name) and Checkout method to find a location.
Each row has three actions:
Edit location (pencil) opens the location page.
Duplicate location creates a copy named "Copy of" plus the original name, with all its settings, and opens it. Pickup and delivery start turned off on the copy, and it isn't linked to a Shopify location.
Delete location permanently (bin) deletes it. You can't delete a location while a rate uses it. Remove the location from the rate first.
Change several locations at once
Check the box next to each location, or the box in the header to select all. Then choose an action:
Export locations downloads the selected locations as a CSV file.
Add blackout dates blocks the same dates at every selected location. Choose the dates, whether they apply to Store Pickup, Local Delivery or both, and whether to add them to each location's existing blackout dates or replace them. Then click Apply.
Delete locations deletes the selected locations, except ones that a rate uses.
What customers see
In the cart widget, customers see the locations that offer the method they chose and can fulfill everything in their cart. By default, each location shows its company name, address and store image (if you added one). It also shows a More information link that opens a pop-up with the location's details and any pop-up content you added. You can change this layout under Address format in Settings → Store pickup.
When customers pick a location, they choose from that location's dates and times.
Things to know
Every location needs a rate. If no pickup or delivery rate covers a location, checkout shows your fallback rate instead. See Set up pickup and delivery rates.
Store-wide switches win. If store pickup or local delivery is turned off in Settings, the location page shows a warning and its settings for that service have no effect.
Change the link text. You can rename the "More information" link in Settings → Text and translations.
FAQs
Why doesn't a location show in the cart widget?
Check that the service is enabled on the location and in Settings, and that the location offers every product in the cart under Product availability. For delivery, the customer also needs to be inside the location's delivery area. Settings → Troubleshoot lists common settings that hide the widget or a checkout method.
Can each location have its own hours?
Yes. Pickup and delivery days, times, preparation time and blackout dates are all set per location.
