A Referral card puts your referral program in your list of ways to earn. Signed-in customers can copy their own referral link from it and share it with friends.
The card gives no points. Referral rewards come from your referral program, which you set up on the Referrals page (click Referrals in the Appstle Loyalty app).

Add a Referral card
In the Appstle Loyalty app, click Ways to earn, then click Add a way to earn. The Points program editor opens on the gallery.
Click Display only, then click Referral card.
Click Add way to earn. The editor opens its settings.
Go through the two steps below, then click Save at the top right of the editor.
A store can have one Referral card. Once you add it, it shows Added in the gallery, and clicking it opens the one you have.
The two steps
The panel on the right shows each step with a summary of its setting. Click a step to change it.

Use the Active switch at the top of the panel to turn the card on or off. Paused cards stay hidden from customers.
To set your referral rewards, open the What customers see step and click Open Referrals.
Write what customers see
The Name is the title in the popup and on the loyalty page. The Description sits under it.
The description can use bold, italic, underline, lists, line breaks and links.
The Icon is a built-in icon, or an image you upload. It shows at 32 px in the popup and 48 px on the Modern loyalty page, so square images look best.
To translate the name and description, change the language in the editor's toolbar.
Who sees it
With both tag fields empty, everyone sees the card, signed in or not. If Show rules to guests is off in Design, only signed-in customers see it.
With Only customers with these tags set, only signed-in customers who have at least one of those tags see it.
With Not customers with these tags set, customers who have any of those tags don't see it.
Tags match without regard to case, so "VIP" and "vip" are the same tag.
What customers see on your store
Customers find the card in the loyalty popup when they click Ways to earn, and on your loyalty page.
In the popup, a signed-in customer sees a copy icon on the card. Clicking it copies their referral link.
On the Legacy loyalty page, a signed-in customer sees a Refer Now button that copies the link. Change the button's text in Design.
On the Modern loyalty page and on the loyalty page in customer accounts, the card has no button. Signed-in customers copy their link from the page's Referrals section.
The Referrals section shows while Referrals are on and Show Referrals is on in Design. Customers who can't share a link under Who can take part don't see it.
Customers who aren't signed in see the card with no copy icon or button.
Things to know
The card doesn't turn on your referral program or set its rewards. On the Referrals page, check that Referrals are on and that a reward is set.
While your referral program is off, the card and its copy icon still show, but nobody gets a reward for a link used then. Pause the card until Referrals are on.
Customers who can't share a link under Who can take part still see the copy icon and Refer Now button, but their links earn nothing.
To hide the card from them, add the tags from These customers can't share a link to the card's Not customers with these tags.
If you set Only these customers can share a link, add the same tags to the card's Only customers with these tags.
The popup's home screen has its own referral card, which shows while Referrals are on. Show Referrals in Design hides that one, not this card. To hide this card, pause it.
Turn on the Appstle Loyalty app embed in your theme. While it's off, the loyalty popup doesn't show. See Set up your loyalty program.
Changes in the editor reach your store when you click Save. If the update to your storefront doesn't finish, the page shows a message with a Retry button.
On the Ways to earn page, drag the card to change where it sits among your other ways to earn.
Pause the card rather than delete it if you only want to hide it for a while.
Troubleshooting
The card doesn't show: check that the app embed and the Active switch are on, and that Show loyalty on your store and Show Ways to earn are on in Design.
Some customers don't see the card: check Show rules to guests in Design, and the tags in the card's Who sees it step.
There's no way to copy the link: customers must be signed in. On the Modern loyalty page and in customer accounts, they copy it from the Referrals section instead of the card.
A friend used the link and nobody got a reward: on the Referrals page, check that Referrals are on, then check When rewards are given and Who can take part.
Customers expect points for the card itself: the card gives none. Use its Description to say what customers get when a friend uses their link.
